Consultation has concluded
As a result of the positive response we have had from residents in regards to the current consultations, Council is opening the floor to residents once more to find out what it is you want us as a Council to focus on in our future consultations.
So if you have found that the topics of the current consultations have not been relevant to you or there is something you really want to discuss with Council and residents, then here is the place to do so!

Investing in Our Aesthetic
I believe it would be beneficial for Council to conduct a consultation surrounding how residents would like to see the town/shire 'dressed up' so to speak. Asking residents how to aesthetically enhance our town's appearance, not only for the benefit of visitors but to boost morale and pride of Leeton Shire residents. An examples of questions may include: 1. Would you like to see a small flower bed at the bottom of each tree in the median strip of Kurrajong Avenue? 2. Would you like to see more silk banners throughout the town (attached to the street light poles in center median strip) ? 3. Would you like to see the aviary at Mountford Park refurbished or transformed? And so on.

River Care
I think there needs to be a consultation built around the maintenance, usage and care our river land. It is an important and sometimes overlooked part of our natural landscape and I believe there is confusion around laws, rules and who is responsible for what that circulates around it.

Animals in Our Shire
I think there should be a future consultation surrounding the care of animals in our shire. I understand there is a privately run Shelter for Dogs in Leeton already and the Rangers do a great jobs in caring for lost or mistreated dogs. I feel more collaboration can be done with this, especially surrounding adopting from the pound. I think if there was a consultation surrounding such things, some limelight would be shed on the issue and then maybe some funding/action can be taken to make sure LSC is united with its community in looking after our animals and providing them with humane and nurturing living environments.

Roxy Theatre
Just a thought that the Roxy could upgrade their kitchen facilities so that it could attract more functions like the fantastic business awards, weddings, Christmas parties etc. We have such a great facility that could be utilised to its full potential if it had a great kitchen area. It has a liquor licence which attracts weddings etc but no kitchen for the caterers.
