Ageing Well Strategy

Consultation has concluded

Leeton Shire Council is keen to understand how the services it provides support our local residents to age well - that is, to remain active, to be physically and mentally healthy, experience connectedness with others and a sense of meaning or purpose in their lives as they grow older.

It is acknowledged that some elderly people who have become frail or dependent on others for their care require very specific services - these services are outside Council's area of responsibility.

Council is currently undertaking a review of its Ageing Well Strategy, originally prepared in 2013-14. The purpose of the Ageing Well Strategy is to support our older residents in leading active, healthy and independent lives in a liveable community. A key element of the review of the Strategy is to revise the Action Plan to ensure the actions Council takes to support the community to age well are relevant and achievable.

A number of stakeholder engagement activities are being undertaken to inform the review of the Ageing Well Strategy. The questions included in the Have Your Say survey will also inform the Strategy’s review by giving residents from across Leeton Shire the opportunity to identify the things they believe will help them to age well.

Feedback closes at midnight on Sunday, 30 August 2020.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback that will assist us to update the Ageing Well Strategy.
