DRAFT Annual Operational Plan, Budget and Revenue Policy (including Fees and Charges) - 2021/22
Consultation has concluded.
Council is pleased to present the draft annual Operational Plan 2021/22, Budget and Revenue Policy (including Fees and Charges) for 2021/22. Council's Operational Plan 2021/22 and Budget sets out Council’s focus for the period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022.
The Operational Plan is presented in combination with the Delivery Program 2017–2022. The Delivery Program component of the document outlines what Council intends to achieve on behalf of the community, while the Operational Plan component lists the actions Council will undertake in order to do so. Each action is allocated a measure and a target, which will form the basis for ongoing monitoring and reporting through the year.
As you will note when reading the following highlights of our Operational Plan and Budget, the capital works program we will be undertaking during the coming year is of an unprecedented scale for Council and includes works on important community projects such as the:
- Roxy Theatre Redevelopment
- Chelmsford Place Town Square
- Leeton Golf Course Clubhouse
- Wamoon Sewer Scheme
- Gogeldrie Weir Recreation Reserve
- Art Deco Way Touring Route
- expansion of our fully accessible public conveniences network (includes new facilities at Wamoon Park, Whitton Park, Sycamore Street and Gossamer Park and upgrades at Yanco Waring Park).
Other capital works and infrastructure projects – such as our comprehensive sealed road network reseal, rehabilitation and heavy patching program – will continue to be progressed during the year as Council continues to deliver on its ongoing commitments.
Key economic stimulus projects scheduled for 2021/22 include:
- progressing the WRConnect Freight Intermodal project
- extending Leeton Early Learning Centre
- expanding the Vance Industrial Estate
- promoting the development of housing.
The rates cap for this coming year is 2%. Also only minor adjustments have been made to Council’s 2021/22 fees and charges with an average increase of 3%.
