The Library is Buzzing
As always the library has been a popular place to be with programs and events to suit many tastes and ages.
The school holiday program has been well received and staff have worked enthusiastically to deliver the programs. Thanks also goes to Steve Rolfe for delivering a couple of impressive children’s boxing sessions.
The Lego club has been very well received with creative and enthusiastic minds building a great variety of models. Some very complex models have been built over the last few weeks with each session’s work being showcased in the library.

Story time has had a great following with the library being bathed in song and dance and infectious giggles.
Whilst some of our regular adult groups have been having a recess over the summer break the knitters have continued through all weathers. These generous and dedicated ladies knit all through the year to provide blankets to the Wrapped with Love program for distribution to those in need. A little about the Wrap with Love program
'Cold humanity is our concern, people caring about other people.'
There are millions of people in the world suffering extreme cold. In 1992 Wrap with Love began with the idea to help as many people as possible by providing warm Wraps to ward off hypothermia and in the past 23 years we have sent more than 400,000 Wraps to people in over 75 countries, including Australia, with the help of our hardworking and generous volunteers.
Most of us can knit and sew. Just one square provides one twenty-eighth of warmth, and collectively, twenty-eight assembled squares create one whole warm and sheltering Wrap.
Our local volunteers are to be commended.
On a personal note I am delighted to have commenced in the new role of Manager Library, Culture and Community. Libraries truly are amazing places and I am deeply impressed with the skill, professionalism, knowledge and passion that our library staff bring to their work. It is going to be a great year in the Library so keep a look out for news and events. Take some time on Monday January 30 to pop in and join us in celebrating International Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day and learn how bubble wrap came into being…you may even get to pop some bubbles!
