Consultation has concluded
To promote growth and development in the Leeton Shire and ensure that development occurs in a consistent, orderly and environmentally sustainable manner, Leeton Shire Council will be preparing a Development Control Plan (DCP).
The DCP will guide development that is permissible under the Leeton Local Environmental Plan 2014, combining Council’s main development policies and standards for new development in a single user–friendly document.
As a first step in the development of a DCP, an Issues Paper has been prepared by Council. The Issues Paper summarises key focus areas that will need to be considered as part of the DCP preparation such as access to properties and development controls for subdivisions.
Council is now inviting interested community members to read the Leeton DCP Issues Paper and provide written feedback on what should be included in the drafting of the DCP to ensure the new DCP is relevant in the Leeton Shire context.
Hard copies are available for public viewing at the Leeton Shire Council Administration Office, Leeton Library, Yanco Shop and Whitton Post Offices.
The community is encouraged to provide feedback to Council in any of the following ways:
ELECTRONICALLY (Preferred): Complete the short survey on Council’s ‘Have Your Say’ online engagement portal at haveyoursay.leeton.nsw.gov.au. Please note you will need to login or register to Council’s ‘Have your Say’ to participate in the survey.
BY EMAIL TO: council@leeton.nsw.gov.au
BY LETTER TO: The General Manager, 23–25 Chelmsford Place, Leeton NSW 2705.
Submissions must be received by Council by 5pm on Thursday 27 January 2022.
The feedback from community consultation will be reported to the new Council in early 2022 along with a draft DCP.
