Consultation has concluded
At its May Ordinary Council Meeting, Leeton Shire Council agreed to place the waiving of application fees totalling $20,099.25 to go on public exhibition for 28 days for the Leeton Showground Trust with respect to the redevelopment of the facility.
Leeton Shire Council has been working collaboratively with the Leeton Showground Trust to seek funding for the construction of a new amenities and grandstand building at the Leeton Showground, estimated to cost $1.4 million. Council has recently assisted the Trust with several grant applications and also submitted a funding application for $800,000 to contribute towards the project under the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
If no public submissions are received the development application fees will be considered formally waived at the end of the public exhibition period.
The public consultation period will close at 5pm on Monday 2nd July.

It is for all the community and a benefit to our town of Leeton so the development fees should be waived,it will attract other sporting events, hence more money spent in our town by visitors

Waive the fees. What is the likelihood of grants becoming available. Will the project only go ahead based on grants. Will the trotting club have any input into the cost? . Definitely need a new grandstand. Hope you are successful with grants.
