As part of promoting professional development within the organisation, Council is participating in the 2019 Australasian Management Challenge. The Management Challenge is a simulation-based team building, learning and networking program using real local government themes – the types of issues that a senior management team in a council would most likely face.

The team is seeking feedback on Project 'Serene & Green Leeton': an idea that Council could become a leader in the area of green waste and resource recovery by augmenting Leeton's existing resource recovery centre with:

  • Green waste kerbside collection
  • Recovery of methane gas to reuse to generate electricity
  • Compost/compaction facilities for green waste into reusable material (such as fuel)
  • Recovery of waste concrete, asphalt and glass to produce construction material
  • Scale and capacity to provide this service as wide as the Western Riverina region

Please note that this consultation is for the purposes of the challenge only, intended as an educational development exercise for up-and-coming leaders within Council.

Thank you for your input.
